When we arrived to Brazil in 1978, Brazilian forestry was limited to some local paper mills that sold on the domestic market. Aracruz had just done its startup. Totally Brazil produced 2 million tons of pulp and paper. Today the production is 17 million tons and Brazil has developed to be one of the leading forestry nations. Who has not heard about the big pulp producers and the fast growing eucalyptus and pine forests? What is behind this change? What will we see in the future?
